The Institute of Pedagogy at the Jagiellonian University is one of the most important pedagogical centers in Poland. The Institute was identified as a leader in the field according to the ranking of institutions of higher education by the Polish journal Perspektywy. The Institute has active partnerships with research and educational institutions throughout Poland and abroad. Within the Institute, scholars conduct research on education from within various theoretical paradigms, philosophical schools of thought, and practical-applied perspectives.

The Institute of Pedagogy is housed in three buildings located in the center of Krakow, surrounded by cafes and countless architectural gems. The main headquarters are found on Batory Street 12 (ul. Batorego 12) in the “Pod Stańczykiem” Villa.
